Food safety and product quality are top priorities at Varðin Pelagic.

Our experienced quality control team has implemented strict procedures throughout the entire value chain, ensuring we meet the highest hygiene standards and consistently deliver premium pelagic fish products.

Quality assurance begins at sea: our fishing vessels are equipped with onboard inspection stations. At the Varðin Pelagic processing plant, we maintain three dedicated quality control points at different stages of production. This system allows us to reduce variability, maintain detailed documentation, and ensure full traceability from catch to final delivery.

While we rely on advanced technology to monitor and control quality, it’s our people who are at the heart of these processes — applying expertise, attention to detail, and sound judgment at every step.

In the event of any issue that could affect product quality or food safety, our traceability system enables us to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively.

Our operations are subject to regular inspections by the Faroese Food and Veterinary Authority, confirming that our processes comply with all relevant food safety regulations and standards.
